Slow Food brings the farmer & chef together for a "Meet The Market Happy Hour"
Phrases like "farm-to-fresh" and "locally-sourced" are buzz words...until you've eaten the real thing. One of Nashville's nonprofit organizations invited the community to experience the "honest to goodness" culture of Butcher & Bee with local farms to witness the slow food method in action.
Slow Food Middle Tennessee hosted "Meet The Market Happy Hour" in collaboration with local farms and the restaurants that value honest, fair and clean preparation of seasonal dishes. A limited menu of small plates including a light cocktail were offered to restaurant goers the entire evening. Chef Bryan Lee Weaver prepared the selection with produce from Rocky Glade Farm and inspiration from the B&B New American cuisine. The series of food & drink showcased pairings of rhubarb, summer blossoms, fruit and spices. On a personal note, I could've ordered a second or third helping of the Papas Bravas easy!!
A portion of "Meet The Market Happy Hour" proceeds went to support the work of Slow Food Middle Tennessee.
